Monster Mingle: A Fun Monster Halloween Party Idea

Halloween is definitely looking different this year, but we’re determined not to let the most spooktacular holiday of the year lose it’s luster! With social distancing in mind, I teamed up with Oriental Trading to create a Halloween Monster Party Idea that can be set up as either an intimate celebration for your kiddos, a Trick-or-Treat Dinner Party, or a low-contact trick-or-treat stop in your driveway. We named this fun fête a Monster Mingle, and we think that your little ghouls and goblins are going to love it!

To make things extra fun, deliver invites to your kiddos’ bedrooms like official mail. They’ll love it!

Bright, festive colors make this Halloween table more silly than spooky. DIY Monster Plates are a huge hit with the kids…especially the candy corn teeth! The kids also really loved the Monster Cardboard Stand-Up that we had set up in the driveway. This is great for capturing some fun Halloween pictures!

To add a festive flair to the table, I created some printable Monster Bottle Labels and Monster Treat Labels to coordinate with the party invitation. Both sets of labels can be found in the Halloween section of my shop. DIY Monster Eye Drink Stirrers were created by hot gluing a black yarn pom to a striped straw, then adding a googly eye to each pom. They were a super cute way to emphasize the monster theme.

This point of the party is where you can get creative! You can either set up a favor station for the kiddos, or use this station as a low contact trick-or-treat station for neighbors and friends. Display your treats in a manner that allows the kids to easily take a goodie or two. If you're offering food treats, be sure that they are individually wrapped. Make sure that you make the station look fun and inviting! I share all of the tips for recreating this look over on Oriental Trading.
