If you’ve followed me for any period of time, it will come as no surprise to you that the Cricut Maker is my most favorite crafting tool that I own. It has helped me bring to life countless ideas, it’s helped me create custom, gorgeous, dream weddings for two of our kiddos, and it’s unveiled so many creative possibilities that I could only dream of before!

I call my Maker the dream machine, because it really is! It can cut hundreds of materials…literally…and it does so with ease. I have used my Maker to cut everything from dainty, delicate crepe paper to more sturdy supplies like chipboard, wood and leather, and it handles each material like a champ.

And, thanks to the Maker’s unique adaptive tool system, the machine can also write, draw, deboss, engrave, perforate, score, make wavy edges and more! I’m tellin’ you, guys. It’s amazing! I could go on and on, but instead of talking about it, how about I show you some of the amazing things that you can create with this machine?

Here are SIX of Our Top Cricut Maker Projects

3D Party Garland

DIY St. Patrick's Day Rainbow Garland - Jen T by Design #cricutcreated @officialcricut

This project is the most popular project made with my Maker that I’ve ever posted about. Maybe it’s the rainbow colors that are drawing people in. Or maybe it’s because the garland can be customized to suit just about any occasion. Having a graduation party? Use school colors + grad cap cutouts. Having a baby shower? Use card stock in your theme colors + onesie or bottle cutouts. Holidays, birthdays, whatever the occasion, this garland can be customized to fit in perfectly.

What is my favorite thing about this project? Well, I love the rainbow colors, obviously. But I really love that the Maker made the garland SO EASY to create! Each of those little 3D spheres consists of eight paper circles, each of which needs to be perfectly scored and folded. When you add up all of the spheres you’ll need to make the garland, that’s a lot of cutting and scoring!

The Maker not only cuts the circles for you in a jiffy, the Maker’s Scoring Wheel applies 10 times more pressure than the Scoring Stylus, creating perfect creases in heavyweight card stock, eliminating the need to re-score and making folding soooo easy!
DIY Wooden Farmhouse Sign - Jen T by Design #cricutcreated @officialcricut
This project right here is my personal all-time favorite thing I’ve ever made with the Maker, for two reasons. One, because I’ve always wanted to create a custom farmhouse sign, and two, because it was created for my daughter’s wedding, so it holds a special place in my heart.

This sign is big…nearly three feet wide, so you might be surprised when I tell you that the text was made using the Knife Blade and Cricut Heavy Chipboard! Before I owned a Maker, I thought this type/size of project would only be possible using a really large, ultra expensive machine. Kind of mind blowing that the Maker is capable of such a project, but it’s true! Plus, how incredible does it look over the dessert buffet at my baby girl’s wedding? So perfect!

Crepe Paper Flowers

DIY Crepe Paper Flowers - Jen T by Design #cricutcreated @officialcricut
If you’ve ever tried to cut crepe paper with a cutting machine then you know it’s not a very easy thing to do. Traditional cutting blades drag over the delicate paper, usually snagging or tearing it, resulting in a lot of wasted (expensive) paper. The Rotary Blade (which is included when you purchase a Maker), rolls and glides over that fragile paper, creating a perfect, seamless cut! Because of that, I was able to create these stunning, realistic looking Crepe Paper Anemones for a bridal shower that I hosted for Oriental Trading Company. I paired the flowers with eucalyptus to create unique place cards and a beautiful wreath for the shower, and these projects are going nuts on Pinterest!

In addition to cutting crepe paper, the Rotary Blade is also ideal for cutting fabrics (soooo many types of fabrics)! It glides over the material, and it does so with no ripping, snagging or tearing! I used the Rotary Blade to cut a monogram out of flannel, then added it to a throw blanket for a super fast, super easy, no-sew project. This blanket makes a great gift idea!
Wedding Invitation Sleeves Using Cricut - Jen T by Design #cricutcreated @officialcricut
Even after using the Maker for two years, the tools that Cricut continues to introduce for it’s Adaptive Tool System never cease to impress me! The Fine Debossing Tip adds professional polish and elevated elegance to your paper crafts, and the Engraving Tip allows you to inscribe your own personal touch into your creations. What better project to incorporate that elegant personalization into than wedding invitations? The tools completely transform simple paper materials into luxurious sleeves to hold the many elements of a wedding invitation, creating a stunning presentation for when guests open their envelopes.
DIY Holiday Gift Tags - Jen T by Design #cricutcreated @officialcricut
Personal touches are my absolute favorite, and based on the popularity of this project, you guys love them, too! The Scoring Wheel, Knife Blade and Rotary Blade allow you to use a wide array of materials to create one-of-a-kind, personalized tags for gift giving. With just a simple changing of tools, these tags were made with suede, leather, acetate sheets, card stock, and I even used the pens to add perfectly written name tags. Aren’t they so unique and fun? Use this idea as inspiration to create tags for birthday gifts, neighbor gifts, shower gifts, holiday gifts, and more.
